How suggested dates work

Foodtim uses bundled rules referring to published government and university extension guidance. Dates depend on the selected food condition, storage method and purchase, opening or preparation date. Where a range is given, the app uses its earlier end; a relevant earlier package date takes priority.

Not every bundled food picture has a storage rule. Pictures are illustrations, not a freshness assessment. Foods without a matching rule need a package date or a user-set date.

Conditions and limits

Cold-storage guidance assumes refrigeration at 4°C or below and freezing at −18°C or below. Freezer time ranges generally concern quality. The app does not measure your fridge temperature or certify that an individual food is safe.

Recipe references

The current three recipes are home adaptations. Portions and measures are adjusted for everyday cooking; the source organisations have not endorsed Foodtim or reviewed these adaptations. Check allergies and actual ingredients yourself.
